Still more monarchs

one of many monarchs nectaring on the large Buddleia
The flow of monarchs continues;  the abundant Buddleia flowers are actively being visited, with the nectar resources shared with Painted Ladies, skippers and other butterflies, and bees of all sorts!

  2. I just planted a couple buddleias in my Nothern Illinois yard. They're puny, and about to go dormant for the year as we head into Winter. But I am looking forward to similar activity next Spring!

  3. I just planted a couple of Buddleias in my Northern Illinois yard. They're puny by comparison, and since I snagged the palnts in an end of season sale, I'm not even sure what colors they are (one purports to be dark purple and the other, pink). Still, I have high hopes for them next Spring. Thanks for sharing!
