First glimpse of Antiqua Guatemala

Leisurely, and sometimes, long walking excursions almost always introduce us to new places.

Antigua was remarkably quiet in the early morning, before locals and tourists were up and about. By later in the morning, as shops opened, the pace quickened and in afternoon and evening, the streets and plaza were full of people, locals, surrounding villagers selling wares, and visitors from all over the world.

The Spanish colonial architecture is unsurpassed - remarkably well-preserved even in a place of frequent, and devastating, earthquakes.

Here were just a few images.
